THE PAST SIMPLE TENSE (Thì quá khứ đơn)
A. LÝ THUYẾT
I. Công thức:* Khẳng định
+ Động từ to be S + was / were + …
+ Động từ thường S + V2/-ed
* Phủ định
+ Động từ to be S + wasn’t / weren’t + …
+ Động từ thường S + didn’t + V o chia
*Nghi vấn
+ Động từ to be Đảo: Was/Were + S + ...? | (Wh-) + was / were + S + …?
+ Động từ thường Đảo: Did + S + Vo chia? | (Wh-) + did + S + V1…?
II. Cách dùng:
- Một hành động đã xảy ra và kết thúc trong quá khứ.
Ex: I went shopping yesterday.
He lived in Hanoi from 1980 t0 2002.
- Một thói quen trong quá khứ.
Ex: When I was young, I often went swimming with my friends in this river.
- Một chuỗi hành động trong quá khứ
Ex: I entered the room, turned on the light, went to the kitchen and had dinner.
III. Dấu hiệu nhận biết:
Trong câu thường có các từ: yesterday ________ ( yesterday morning, yesterday afternoon,…….), time + ago ( two years ago, many months ago, ten minutes ago….), last + time ( last year, last night, last week, last month….), in + time in the past (in 1975, in 1998…)

Bài 3: Chia động trong ngoặc đúng dạng thì quá khứ đơn :
Snow White was the daughter of a beautiful queen, who died when the girl (be)1……….. young. Her father (marry)2………….again, but the girl’s stepmother was very jealous of her because she was so beautiful. The evil queen (order)3………….a hunter to kill Snow White but he couldn’t do it because she was so lovely.
